The Kwik-E-Mart Comes to Life: Take Part in The Simpsons

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Here’s a fairly interesting story for you. Apparently, as a huge promotion for the show and the movie, The Simpsons will be turning some 7-Elevens into the fictional convenience store from apuflag.gifthe show; the Kwik-E-Mart run by Apu Nahasapeemapetilon.

Customers also will be able to buy products inspired by the nearly two-decades-old show, including KrustyO’s cereal, Buzz Cola and iced Squishees (the cup says Squishee, but the contents will be Slurpee).
The chain also will use pictures of Simpsons characters to promote 7-Eleven’s line of fresh foods, such as placing the face of Homer and his classic “Mmmm . . . sandwich” quip on sandwich wrappers.

Also, there will be a staged robbery before by a Snake look alike. For those not familiar with the character of Snake, he is a jewel in the eye of the rotating penial system who talks like snake.gifhe’s been surfing the waves in California his whole life.

You know, and this is embarassing to admit, but on my low days when I’m so sick of the world and everything in it, I pop in one of my Simpsons DVDs and all of the sudden I’m happy. I’ve often commented to my husband that I wouldn’t mind living in Springfield and apparently now is my chance; although I don’t think I live anywhere near one of these 7-Elevens. Ah well.

No word yet on the locations of these lucky 7-Elevens, but I’m sure if it will be in your area, the media should be big enough for you to find out.

New Simpsons Game Scheduled for Release

Friday, March 30th, 2007

According to playstatic.com, EBGames has listed another Simpsons game to be released later this year. The game will be based on The Simpsons movie. The game is to be published by EA 3K0SG3CA1JUCJPCAA3F2S5CAIJD8ONCANK1Z8QCA87YT4ACA96P2O2CACBZPI6CA8OH2GICA4GBUTHCAO1Q7OOCA6P3T7XCAVOV7AYCAZXWGTKCAIGW40UCAJBD6UKCAPSYCACCA82FQIECAHV0AJ7CAOY4IH6.jpgGames and should be released on the 1st of November of this year. The game will operate on PSP and PS2. This game is causing a lot of buzz amongst gamers and Simpsons fans alike.

I feel that with EA developing this game, it has a lot of potential to be extremely entertaining. If EA introduces features such as online play via the Playstation 3 Online service and give gamers a challenging yet fun game, then this could turn out to be an excellent addition to any collection of games.

250px_The_Simpsons_Road_Rage.jpgPersonally, I’ve played the Simpsons Hit and Run and Simpsons Road Rage and I found those both entertaining. I hope that doesn’t say too much about my personality. But it has been proven in the past that these games don’t just stick the Simpsons characters in there, they make the whole game a Simpsons experience.

Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Hello all,

My name is Anna and I just recently signed up to deliver all the wonderful Simpsons news to the world. I’m really excited about this because ever since my mother decided that watching The Simpsons wasn’t evil, I’ve been hooked. It’s a wonderfully talented show and it’s a bartface.gifstanding testiment to the power of animation.
During my run with this blog, I’ll be posting in-depth episode recaps, spoilers, news about cast and crew, products and of course anything relating to The Simpson’s Movie. Whatever I find will be yours and I’ll be sure to include videos and pics.
So join us every day as I post about Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and every other weirdly yellow person in Springfield.
I’m working on weekly features and I’ll let you know as soon as I’ve got them going.
